Florence & The Machine’s “Secret 7” Vinyl Design Competition” – My Favourite Entries
Apparently the voting for Florence & The Machine’s Secret 7” vinyl design competition was over, before I could check out all the entries, but now that I finally found the time, I’m gonna share my favourites. To be honest, I am really surprised about how good some of them are. Props to all the artists involved! Of course, this I could only post a selection of my favourite images, cause there are just too many submissions. You can view all submissions here, where you can also find all the details about the contest. The 45 winners will be announced on February 7.

Incredible! Kaws – “Partners”
KAWS fans out there will be pleased to know that the next figure from the street turned contemporary artist has dropped. Partners features a sculpt of the artist standing next to his companion figure. If this looks familiar, it’s because you probably have seen the statue at Disneyland featuring Walt Disney standing next to Mickey Mouse although not cringing like in this version.

The Giant Robot 2 (GR2) presents: YEAR OF THE DRAGON – an art exhibition featuring Dragons!
This is the official GR2 Grand Re-Opening as well as our beloved Michelle Borok’s Farewell…
Michelle Borok, who is coincidentally Year of the Dragon, began as a clerk at Giant Robot LA and quickly found herself managing all locations, curating exhibitions, building the brand, and needless to say, much much more. She will be moving to Mongolia.
“While the Year of the Rabbit was characterized by calm and tranquility, the Year of the Dragon will be marked by excitement, unpredictability, exhilaration and intensity. The Rabbit imbues people with a sense of cautious optimism, but people respond to the spirit of the Dragon with energy, vitality and unbridled enthusiasm, often throwing all caution to the wind – which can be an unwise move: The Dragon is all about drama but if you take unnecessary risks, you may find yourself starring in your own personal tragedy.”

Create Your Ultimate Linkin Park Setlist – Results
So this post goes out to all the Linkin Park fans out there! Everytime the guys tour, there are big discussions about the setlist. With this Poll you can help create the ultimate setlist!
I’ve tried to include as many songs as possible, but left out remixes (like Reanimation tracks) and demos. You can vote for those in the comment section if you want to be so specific.
Here are the results! I’ve included the Top 20 of the poll in the setlist:
1. Qwerty
2. With You
3. No Roads Left
4. A Place for my Head
5. Waiting for the End
6. In the End
7. Figure 09
8. Iridescent
9. From the Inside
10. Bleed it Out
11. Blackout
12. Wretches & Kings
13. Across the Line
14. Papercut
15. High Voltage
16. Faint
17. Numb
18. Given up
19. When they come for me
20. The Catalyst
For me it’s pretty surprising that “Qwerty” is your Number 1, as I was dead sure that “With You” would make it. I’m also surprised that songs like “Pushing me away”, “Points of Authority”, “My December”, “The Messenger”, or “Robot Boy” didn’t make the setlist, cause people keep asking for those on Twitter, on message boards, etc. Also noteworthy is, that “Across the Line” is the only LPU track that made the list & “High Voltage” the only Hybrid Theory EP track. I’ve expected a bit more than just those two.
Apparently “A Thousand Suns” is still going strong, with 6 songs of it voted into your setlist. I wonder which songs the guys cut, when the new album comes out in summer. I bet they will play new songs during their festival tour, even if they haven’t released the album at that point yet.
Great YouTube Covers: Max Giesinger & Tino Oac – Someone like you/Sex on Fire
Max Giesinger is a contestant of The Voice of Germany, and Tino Oac sings in one of Germany’s most popular bands “Söhne Mannheims” (= Sons of Mannheim). His band mate Xavier Naidoo is one of the coaches from The Voice of Germany and Max is in his team, thus the connection.
Those two covers are absolutely amazing!
